ABA Insight LLC is Hiring a Behavior Technician (Entry Level) Near Monroe, MI

Description

DISCLOSURE: You must be located in or near Monroe County (within a 30 mile radius) for your application to be considered due to traveling distances.

We are looking for Behavior Technicians for in-home and center services in Monroe County, Michigan. Pay range is from $16.00 to $21.00 per hour. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri, 8-6pm and some Saturdays (if desired). We request that you can work a minimum of 10 hours but we are very flexible with school schedule and our scheduling. ABA Insight's Center is located at 15384 S.Dixie Hwy. Monroe, MI 48161. Please see our web site at www.abainsight.net.

Primary Job Function: To work in a fast-paced and often intense learning environment to provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

A Behavior Technician provides direct one-on-one behavioral interventions to individuals with autism to teach communication, social skills, and reduce problematic behaviors in the home, community, and school settings. Behavior Technicians will utilize interventions developed out of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and are advised by a Licensed Behavior Analyst. 

No training in ABA? Do not worry - we will invest in you to get you trained and on your way! We often find that individuals that had no prior experience truly enjoy the work and obtain advanced credentials in the field. This could be you!

PREFERRED/EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

Working towards or have obtained a Bachelor’s in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development or related human service fields

Working toward a Master’s degree in an ABA program

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) is preferred however not required

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship with clients to promote optimal learning
  • Follows a treatment plan utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation
  • Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem solving skills
  • Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding
  • Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations)
  • Accurately collects behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval based recording
  • Collaborates with family and treatment team members to provide treatment effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment
  • Educates members of the treatment team that are key caregivers for the individual being treated
  • Performs tasks requested by the case supervisor within boundaries of the BT role when providing treatment
  • Completes assessments during treatment to gather information and clinical findings to report to the case supervisor to communicate progress and changes
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Light Cleaning and Organizing
  • Assisting with daily needs; feeding, toileting, dressing
  • Preparing lunches

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill-sets accordingly.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.
  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to the required standard.
  • Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols and written.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma
  • Must be able to pass a background check, Recipient Rights background check and TB test
  • Immediate completion of online training RBT modules, CPR and Fingerprinting
  • Must complete additional training after employment including but not limited to; company in-services and required funding source trainings
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting and standing) for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing to sit on the floor for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to restrain and/or transport while utilizing quick body movements as trained
  • Must be willing to work in various environments to perform therapy such as home, schools, centers and community settings.
  • Must be willing to drive within a 30-mile radius as needed for treatment of clients in the home, community and school settings.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance required
  • Must have access to email and phone contact.
