ABA Connect is Hiring a Registered Behavior Technician, Interpreter (Spanish) Near Alamo, TX
Job Description This position works directly with ABA Connect’s clients on their individualized ABA therapy programs and provides interpreting and translating services in both a clinical and administrative capacity. Schedule and hours may vary and is on an as needed (PRN) basis. You will be responsible for building and maintaining rapport, and keeping up to date on programming goals and implementing appropriate changes when directed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for each child and providing oral and written translation services to clients, caregivers, clinicians, and other authorized contacts. The Behavior Technician, PRN, Interpreter will be reviewed annually. Essential Job Functions

Provide direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients
Take data on each skill
Notify BCBA when criteria is met on specific skills
Communicate with parents/caregivers and technicians/lead RBTs/BCBAs on issues, concerns, and progress
Be on time for each session; stay the entire time
Request need for time off with Administrative/Scheduling Coordinator at least two weeks in advance using Central Reach and in accordance with assigned location protocols
Maintain supervision logs when appropriate
Notify BCBA of any schedule changes
Use basic knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) procedures
Work in a professional manner with clients and families
Collect, analyze, and update data; organize/create materials, research activities, etc.
Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers, BCBA and other behavior technicians
Ensure that all data is entered correctly for session
Ensure that session notes are completed correctly - they should be quantitative in nature, with correct start and end times of session and signed, confirming that the service has been performed
Maintain over-learning and maintenance data
Serve as liaison between BCBA supervisor and other behavior technicians, as needed
Create/obtain materials for programs, as needed
Provide oral interpreting services for clients, clinicians, and administrators
Provide written translation services adhering to established word meaning, grammar, and sentence structure rules
Additional Duties
Keep work area clean and disinfected (e.g., keep materials put away when not in use, etc.) Clean area after therapy session
Participate in general house cleaning for administrative hours, as assigned
Engage in ongoing staff training as requested by BCBA
Attend required meetings
Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
Occasionally- less than 1/3 of the time; Frequently- 1/3-2/3 of the time; Regularly- over 2/3 of the time
Must be able to regularly assume a variety of repetitive postures (kneeling, squatting, crouching, sitting, standing, etc.) in the course of working with children with developmental disabilities and behavior problems
Must be able to frequently stand for sustained periods of time
Must be able to frequently keep pace with and engage safely with children in the course of behavioral management
Must be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
Must be able to regularly work in a highly stressful environment while maintaining a calm demeanor throughout daily interactions with clients, staff, and parents
Must have manual dexterity sufficient to regularly perform various keyboard functions
Must be able to regularly give and receive detailed information through oral communication
Must have visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Must be able to frequently sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time
Must be able to regularly travel to and from different areas served by ABA Connect
Must be physically present at the assigned job site
Required license or certification:
Valid, current driver’s license & current car insurance on vehicle
CPR certification
Preferred:
Working towards or has obtained a degree in Behavioral Science or related field (such as; Psychology, Special Education, Elementary Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Occupational/Physical/Speech Therapy or Counseling/ Social Work)
RBT Certification maintained
Additional Eligibility Requirements
Flexible schedule and availability to support PRN status
Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish
Knowledge of Autism and other developmental disorders
Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Previous experience working with a range of children with autism, developmental disorders or typically developing children
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adapt to a changing environment
Passion for helping children achieve their full potential
