AB LP is Hiring a Programmer Analyst Near Nashville, TN

We are seeking a Nashville based Programmer Analyst to join our Development Team in Derivatives IT. Derivatives IT supports all core functions behind Derivatives middle office functions. This involves trade capture, settlement, valuation and risk calculations, reporting to many constituents such as banks, internal portfolio accounting systems, client risk and statement reporting systems. The department configures, tests, customizes vendor software and builds/enhances proprietary software. The Derivative Technology Team is responsible for supporting and providing advanced tools to analyze, book, price, and risk manage a broad spectrum of products and assets used by the various Investment teams. In addition, this team supports Fixed Income, Equity, Commodity, and Currency OTC derivatives used throughout the firm's portfolio management, trading, and operations. Members of the Derivative Technology team play critical roles in the firm’s success by providing proprietary technology solutions and supporting vendor applications which assist in complex investment decision-making, streamline trading, reduce operational risk, and improve efficiency. The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for the IT support for the users of our Broadridge Securities Financial and Collateral Management platform across multiple business lines and will develop code on multiple ongoing and new initiatives related to repo trading and OTC collateral management functions. Success in this position requires a solid understanding of a broad range of technology solutions. Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports: Support Broadridge Security Financing and Collateral Management (fka 4sight) vendor software including customizations, and interfaces to many applications at AB in many departments. The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Development Data warehouse population and reporting System interfaces Batch development and support What makes this role unique or interesting? This role allows the right candidate to learn support and soon manage two applications fully. From a technical standpoint, the role allows a developer exposure to both Java, Python, C# development, multiple dbms versions, and XML. What is the professional development value of this role, i.e. what learning and professional growth does the role offer the candidate? Business/investment understanding and new technologies as needed. Qualifications, Experience, Education: Bachelor’s in computer science preferred 3-5 years of experience development is required, preferably with Java 3-5 years strong Oracle PL/SQL Skills Python and C# are desirable but can be learned by a strong Java developer Some academic and/or work experience with financial applications is necessary Skills: Java, PL/SQL (Oracle), are required Python, C# a plus Effective communication: providing feedback, running meetings, interacting with business analysts and users System management (knowledge of Linux, ability to work with system admins, network admin, etc) Special Knowledge (if applicable): Financial applications Location: Nashville, TN AB is a leading global investment management firm that offers high-quality research and diversified investment services to institutional clients, individuals and private clients in major markets around the world.
