Job Description
Job Title: Sandwich Artist
Reports To: Management
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Responsible for greeting and serving guests, preparing products, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, handles or processes light paperwork, and provides exceptional customer service by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders.*
2. Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests accurately.*
3. Uses the point of sale system or cash register to record order and compute the amount of the bill.*
4. Collects payment from guests and makes change.*
5. Performs cash-in procedure by accounting for all forms, including but not limited to, money and bread during the shift.*
6. Prepares food neatly according to formula in a timely manner.*
7. Checks products in sandwich unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.*
8. Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, service, and clean up.*
9. Cleans and maintains all areas of the restaurant to promote a clean image while following the 3-step method for cleaning.*
10. Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas, and procedures as outlined in the Subway Operations Manual.*
11. Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the Subway Operations Manual.*
12. Performs light paperwork duties as assigned.
13. Completes University of Subway courses as directed.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Subway point of sale software and cash registers.
Specialized Training:
Subway Sandwich Artist training
