AAP Staff is Hiring a Seamstress Near Chicago, IL

Our client in the west suburbs is looking for a skilled Part-Time Seamstress with the potential to transition into a full-time role. This position involves assembling high-quality aprons and working closely with the design team to meet production goals while maintaining standards of craftsmanship.

Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, and sew fabric based on existing patterns and designs.
  • Operate various types of sewing machines and other necessary equipment to assemble aprons.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Adjust the sewing process as required to enhance product quality.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace.
  • Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines and equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Collaborate with the design and production teams to understand specifications and improve product outcomes.
  • Manage fabric and sewing supplies inventory effectively.
  • Complete sewing projects within set deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Seamstress or similar role, with a strong portfolio of past work (particularly in garment assembly).
  • Proficient in operating industrial sewing machines and other related equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of different fabric types and their respective sewing techniques.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to creating high-quality products.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and patterns.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Good communication skills, capable of keeping team members and management informed of progress.
  • Understand directions in English

Preferred Experience:

  • Specific experience in sewing aprons or related garments is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a production environment where time and quality are paramount.
