SummaryTravel: Possible 5-10 days travel per year Job Description The Content Specialist serves as a supporting partner to the Content Strategy Manager and will assist with the development of content plans to deliver important information to members. The Content Specialist will be responsible for project managing content development with cross-functional teams across the AAFP to support the strategic operations plan. Key responsibilities include: Assist with the development and analysis of content strategies to deliver information that aligns with AAFP priorities. Partner with AAFP cross-functional teams to develop content in various formats for multiple channels. Participate in message development work to ensure consistent and effective content development across project deliverables. Assist Content Strategy Manager with content audits, web content migration plans with oversight of implementation, and web page builds/updates as needed. Partner with the digital /strategy team to identify search engine optimization and ways to improve member experience through content. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Requires a bachelor’s degree (or through equivalent work experience) in communications, marketing, English, or related area, plus a minimum of two years related work experience. Required skills for success include: Excellent written/verbal communication skills consistent with communications and consulting role, including persuasion and thought leadership. Relationship management and collaboration skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Knowledge of message and user journey mapping, and principles of content strategy. Experience developing and presenting recommendations for content formats and communications methods across multiple channels in support of strategic objectives. Project management, relationship management, time management skills needed. Experience with project management and content management systems a plus, particularly publishing and managing website content.
