Class A and B Ready-Mix Driver

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Ready-Mix Driver operates a ready-mix truck in the timely transportation of ready-mix concrete to and from job sites. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the CMV in accordance with D.O.T. and company regulations.
  • Deliver ready-mix concrete to customers in a timely and safe manner.
  • Maintain the highest standard of safety and
  • quality in all aspects of the job.
  • Assure product quality to the best of the Driver's ability.
  • Notify the Dispatcher of job site information and conditions.
  • Wash down the truck to clean off excess concrete on the truck or in the drum. Washing requires using a hose and climbing on and off the truck.

  • Maintain good vehicle appearance.
  • Follow all DOT rules and regulations.
  • Perform math to tally tickets and for calculations. Comfortable working with fractions, decimals, and basic number calculations.
  • Must have valid DOT certified commercial driver’s license.
  • Must have valid DOT medical certification or proof of exemption.
  • Must be able to pass DOT drug screen and comply with DOT and company drug screen policy.
  • Must maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State motor Carrier regulations and company policy.
  • Must be able to interact with customers in a diplomatic, polite manner in varied stressful situations.
  • Must be willing to work some overtime and weekends.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

  • Must be able to physically perform the essential duties and functions of the position on a continuous and routine basis in a variety of weather conditions, temperatures, and site conditions.
  • Excellent defensive driving skills.
  • Ability to climb ladder to inspect loads of ready-mix concrete, hang/remove chutes, add ingredients to mix and wash truck.
  • Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times per day.
  • Extremes in weather. Will be hot or
  • cold at times, so the employee must have the ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes.
  • The employee will be handling materials daily, which requires the ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods.
  • The position requires full range of body motion on a daily basis including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles.
