Position: Senior Accountant Location: Austin, TX Company: AAA Storage Investments - A Boutique Real Estate Investment and Development Firm
About Us: Join our thriving boutique real estate investment and development company, a leader in the self-storage and light industrial business parks sector for over three decades. With our recent venture into our first Private Equity Fund, we're expanding our accounting team to support our growth. This role offers the unique chance to make a significant impact within our smaller accounting office, providing ample opportunities for involvement across various business areas.
· Project Planning: Developing project plans, including determining project scope, goals, and deliverables for development of storage facilities, office/warehouse business parks, and rv parks.
· Budgeting and Cost Management: Estimating costs, preparing budgets, and managing project expenses.
· Scheduling: Developing and maintaining project schedules and phasing plans, ensuring deadlines are met.
· Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
· Quality Control: Monitoring project progress to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
· Contract Management: Negotiating and managing contracts with surveyors, architects, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers amongst other vendors.
· Communication: Coordinating communication between project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and jurisdictional officials.
· Health and Safety: Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
· Documentation: Maintaining accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
· Attend project-related meetings, capture minutes, and record issues.
· Self-starter with the ability to work remotely. Some travel required mostly in TX around Austin, San Antonio, and Houston greater area. Some travel occasionally to NC and FL
Your knowledge, skills, and experience:
· 5 years of project management experience in the construction industry.
· Salary 130k - 150k annually
· Bachelor’s degree with a major in Civil Engineering, Planning and Development, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
· Ability to monitor and administer multi-million-dollar construction projects.
· Possess excellent analytical skills with the ability to read, interpret, and develop statistical reports and calculations.
· Must possess working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, and various software products).
· Possess working knowledge of generally accepted accounting and budgeting practices.
· Ability to read and interpret building/site plans and specifications.
· Ability to prepare cost estimates and project schedules.
· Successful construction project managers having a combination of technical construction knowledge, strong leadership skills, and excellent project management abilities.
