Responsibilities:

• Provides quality nursing care to residents following established policies and procedures of the facility and follows federal and state regulations.
• Follows supervisor's instruction, checks rooms routinely to ensure residents are being provided the care needed or requested.
• Records observations as needed.
• Maintains residents' unit.
• Pass meal trays and feed residents, who need assistance.
• Perform after meal care as required.
• Bathe residents as assigned and according to established schedule.
• Dress residents neatly and in their own clothing. Comb and brush residents' hair daily.
• Assist residents to and from the bathroom. Offer bedfast residents bedpans, urinals, portable toilet, etc. Clean and store the equipment after each use. Report intake and output as required.
• Keep incontinent resident clean and dry. Check on them a minimum of every two (2) hours. Change bed linens and clothing as necessary.
• Move and turn bedfast residents at least every two (2) hours.
• Check on all residents hourly.
• Always assure the nurse call system is within easy reach of the resident.
• Answer call lights promptly.
• Practice standard precautions when dealing with residents at all times.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit.
• Other duties as directed by the supervisor or administrator.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be state tested.
• Must be in good mental and physical condition.
• Must be able to read and write and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be willing to cooperate with supervisors and fellow employees.
• Must have patience, tactfulness, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and be able to handle many different types of residents.
• Must have knowledge and experience completing documentation utilizing Point Click Care (PCC) electronic health system.

Working Conditions:

• Work in well-lighted and well-ventilated rooms.
• You will be exposed to odors and various personalities of the aged, infirmed who may have various illnesses, also, those who are here on a short-term basis before returning to the outside community.

Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour
