In this role you will design, implement, and deliver technical training programs to support our world-class Roadside Service & Assistance operations (basic Automotive maintenance & repair, Towing & tow truck operation), The candidate will build & maintain relationships with fleet operations management, external provider shops, newly hired drivers & technicians, and work with business line management to identify specific training needs. Contributes to the development and implementation of Business Line wide initiatives.

  • Hands-on automotive repair and/or towing operations experience (and the ability to train in such) is required for this role. The ability to facilitate live courses in-person and in virtual environments also required.


What you will do:

  • Design, develop and facilitate training programs emphasizing technical and sales skills, applications, vendor and product information, AAA quality standards and Five Diamond Member experience culture. Delivers training utilizing a variety of training techniques. Ensure the trainees comprehend the complexity and depth of related information. Facilitates training programs in a variety of settings including formal classroom settings, on-location & real-time training, regional training centers, distance learning and one-on-one training sessions. Training programs may be conducted after business hours. Trainings may occur both indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions.
  • Builds professional relationships with AAA partners and vendors. Maintains high level of topical expertise and knowledge of all product offerings, industry trends, department policies and procedures. Participates in department meetings to communicate proactively the status of training initiatives, ideas, and concepts and to gather feedback from the management staff. Provides constructive coaching throughout training to help learners refine and enhance their technical and professional skills toward established standards.
  • Develops and adjusts training programs geared toward the depth of knowledge required by the trainees’ position and prior skills. Working with the Safety Manager, supports the establishment of a safety culture by incorporating safe working practices and OSHA requirements in all training programs.
  • Remain knowledgeable of industry trends by attending related seminars and courses, and maintaining industry certifications. Represents the department and organization at Club, community and industry functions.
  • Depending on Business Line, assist the operations during events or high demand weather related storms. Depending on Business Line - works closely with monitoring/quality assurance team to identify performance gaps and opportunities, and recommends learning solutions to line management.
  • Establishes strong working relationships with other trainers, management and leadership. Other duties may be assigned

Base salary range: $65 - $70K

  • This role will require occasional travel to our fleet location in Milford CT, as well as to various AAA Independent Service Providers in the local territory for on-location training, follow-ups, and ride alongs.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Required or 6-8 years of additional relevant experience required


Experience

Hands-on automotive repair and/or towing operations experience required. Experience facilitating live courses in-person and virtual environments required


Licenses and Certifications

Current ASE electrical or engine repair certification (A1 &A6) and Wreckmaster Certification Level 2/3 preferred (or have the ability to obtain within 60 Days). Must be willing & able to operate tow vehicles (once trained) and successfully pass a Driver’s License Check and DOT Physical at the time of hire.
