AAA Home Care is Hiring a Direct Support Professional Near Indianapolis, IN
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for individuals
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of individuals
- Monitor and record vital signs as required
- Provide hospice care and support to individuals and their families, if applicable
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, if needed
- Perform heavy lifting as required to assist individuals with mobility
Experience:
- Previous experience working with people with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of ADLs and ability to provide appropriate support
- Familiarity with cleaning protocols and maintaining a clean environment
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience working alongside nurses or healthcare professionals is a plus
- Ability to monitor and record vital signs accurately, if required
- Experience providing hospice care is an asset
- Proficiency in meal preparation techniques and dietary restrictions, if applicable
- Physical strength and ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
