AAA Central Penn is Hiring a Manager, Approved Auto Repair Near Harrisburg, PA

 
AAA Central Penn is hiring a Managerfor ourApproved Auto Repair Program. The Approved Auto Repair Program works directly with automotive service providers within AAA Central Penn’s service area, certifying and managing these businesses as AAA Approved Service Providers. These service providers include privately owned automotive repair facilities and large automotive dealerships. This is a remote position that requires daily travel to AAA Approved Service providers.
 

Job Purpose Summary:

Manages all aspects of AAA Central Penn’s Approved Auto Repair program in accordance with AAA Automotive Quality Standards, AAA Brand Management guidelines, and AAA Central Penn policies and procedures. The Manager, Approved Automotive Repair is also responsible for the management of the AAA Central Penn Courier team. 

Essential Functions:

  • Manages Approved Auto Repair operations and related programs, including service provider evaluations, recruitment, and contract signings.
  • Holds automotive service providers and their employees accountable to meet AAA Central Penn Approved Auto Repair expectations and goals.
  • Consults with automotive service providers regarding business practices and upcoming opportunities.
  • Collaborates with automotive service providers in the preparing of business plans within expected timelines and budget.
  • Responsible for evaluating and adjusting program fees within budgetary requirements as necessary. 
  • In cooperation with the Support Center Manager, receives, investigates, and resolves customer concerns related to service providers.
  • Manages AAACP Couriers and interoffice deliveries. 
  • Works with area vo-tech programs assisting with the development of students to prepare them for future employment in the automotive repair industry.
  • Works with AAA, Inc. on various committees and programs. 
  • Independently makes decisions applying company policies and procedures to resolve problems.
  • Additional job duties as required. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly manages all Approved Auto Repair facilities to verify compliance with all applicable Approved Auto Repair program standards, as well as promotions, policies, and procedures.
  • Directly manages Courier staff in functions such as hiring, scheduling, payroll, training, and performance appraisals in accordance with AAA Central Penn policies, procedures, and applicable laws. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of practical service technician, mechanical, or collision experience, plus at least three years of automotive service management and customer service experience, or the equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
  • Certifications including ASE Master Automotive & Body certification and ASE L1 certification, or the ability to become certified within the first year of employment, and any other certifications as specified by the AAA Quality Standards.
  • Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostic equipment.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of business administration and business management systems, specifically associated with automotive and mechanical operations.
  • Communication skills to efficiently obtain and convey necessary information including clearly explaining policies and benefits.
  •  Ability to listen to and interpret, understand, and process verbal information and ask probing questions for clarity.
  •  Ability to allocate resources and analyze information to identify alternatives and makes sound logical decisions to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at once, efficiently use time, and deal effectively with high business volume and time constraints, as required by business needs.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams and Outlook, Zoom, internet browsers, and various business systems and software applications as needed in daily business operations.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. 

Work Environment:

The working environment ranges from a busy office with frequent interruptions/ distractions and a low noise level to repair facilities that are in a commercial/ industrial setting. May be exposed to hazardous materials used in automotive applications. Driving in all types of weather and for lengthy periods of time to facilities is required for this position.
