A1M Solutions is Hiring a Design Lead - Medicaid and CHIP Near Baltimore, MD

As a Design Lead for a suite of products that helps the federal government administer lifeline healthcare programs, you think and work strategically as well as tactically. You understand how government health programs work in practice and lead design and research with confidence in agile teams. You are comfortable communicating with executive stakeholders, talking technical details with engineers, and guiding individual contributors. 

Responsibilities

  • Generate and implement product and service design initiatives that take into account user experience, policy goals, and technical constraints
  • Guide qualitative and quantitative research that tells project teams what’s at stake for end users, healthcare providers, the federal government, states, Medicaid/CHIP enrollees, and other stakeholders
  • Develop and refine processes for communicating and collaborating with engineers across multiple scrum teams
  • Help decision-makers move from analysis to action with clear, concise, and strategic recommendations
  • Oversee the creation of helpful artifacts to guide implementation and delivery, whether wireframes, sitemaps, mockups, flowcharts, storyboards, user stories, or hand puppets. 
  • Navigate complex organizational relationships to resolve questions, disagreements, and blockers. 
  • Build inclusive, respectful partnerships with diverse groups of people 

Qualifications

7 years of relevant professional experience plus undergraduate degree OR 5 years of relevant experience and post-graduate degree in a field related to the responsibilities listed below. Must already have legal authorization to work within the US. 

Your portfolio or resume should demonstrate experience in: 

  • Collaboration on agile, cross-functional development teams
  • Taking products and/or services from early discovery to iterative improvement. 
  • Thoughtful use of generative and evaluative research methods 
  • Managing relationships with non-technical decision-makers outside your project team, such as customers or executives 

As well as familiarity with:

  • How Medicaid, and CHIP work in practice at the local, state and/or federal level
  • Modern web-based application development processes and tools for distributed collaboration

Nice, but not necessary:

  • Personal experience with government health and human services programs

The salary band for this position is $115,000 – $165,000.
