A.W. Chesterton Company is Hiring a Temp HR Assistant - 6 Month Opportunity (25+hours/week) Near Haverhill, MA

Chesterton is looking for a temporary, part-time (or full-time) Human Resources Assistant to join our HR team here in Groveland, MA!

Job Summary:

Supports the Human Resources Department administratively, carrying out various departmental projects as identified.

Job Model: On-Site

All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.

Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.

On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in departmental projects as required.
  • Performs a wide variety of data entry, secretarial, coordination and support services for Human Resources.
  • Audit data in multiple HR systems (HRIS, Performance Management, ATS) to ensure accuracy. Elevate mistakes with action plans. Correct mistakes.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information
  • Produces and distributes regular required (weekly/ monthly/annually) reports to employees, mangers, HR, Accounting, Payroll, Program Vendors, governmental compliance and other external requestors.
  • Develop and maintain system audits
  • Assists department in various administrative tasks including but not limited to filing, letter preparation, mail merges, file audits, photocopying, training preparation

  • Works under general direction. Ability to work independently.
  • Work is reviewed only for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
  • May interact with both internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Some college.
  • HR knowledge or interest a plus.

  • Strong grammar skills. Ability to proofread and check various documents.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • PC experience and proficiency required, Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Requires good judgment and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Learns quickly.
