A Step Up Career Academy Center is looking for 1 qualified Floater/Teacher Assistants for our daycare facility. Candidates will be working with the ages of 6 weeks old to 12 years old. Candidates must have at least 1 year of work experience in a daycare center.

****THESE ARE PERMANENT POSITIONS WITH FULL-TIME WORK HOURS**** The available shift for this position is 9:30am - 6:30pm.****

• Please read the qualifications below:
• - Candidate will be floating from classrooms to provide coverage when a teacher is absent or has planned vacation days.
• - Candidate will also assist the classrooms that only have 1 teacher.
• - Candidate should have experience in working with children from 6 weeks to 12 years old.
• -Candidate will be fully trained in all 7 classrooms.
• - Candidate should have experience in nurturing children and have excellent communication skills with parents.
• -Candidate must be able to interact with different age groups.
• -Candidate must be able to change diapers and potty train.
• - Candidate must be sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults.
• - Candidate must be able to adapt to change.
• - Candidate must be able to meet DCFS requirements.
• - Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• DCFS REQUIRED TRAINING: Mandated Reporter, SIDS, Shaken Baby, Trauma Informed Care & Food Handler.
• -Floater Teacher must have at least 33 college credit hours with six credits (2 classes) being in early childhood education or child development.
• Center Programs through the state of Illinois:
• ExceleRate Illinois Program- Gold Star Level
• NAEYC Accredited

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.50 - $15.25 per hour
