Oral Surgery Dental Assistant
-Assisting the oral surgeon during a variety of treatment procedures.
-Explaining office procedures before treatment to patients.
-Providing quality and compassionate care to every patient before, during and after dental treatment.
-Patient management during dental procedures.
-Dental charting of patient's pre-existing and accurate inputting of patient progress notes.
-Providing patients with post-op instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
-Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth) if necessary.
-Preparing and maintaining dental instruments, supplies and equipment.
-Taking and developing x-rays, collecting and recording patient health histories.
-Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
-Monitor equipment and hand piece repairs for all operatory equipment, accurate completion and follow up of repair logs.
-Completion of daily/weekly/monthly tasks including autoclave testing and cleaning of traps.
-Assisting with monthly supply order.
-Assisting clinic with recall and treatment plan reports, when requested.
-Responsible for adhering to all government and company regulations.
-Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral surgery.
-Potentially traveling to different office locations.
