REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s intakes are completed. Assist with janitorial duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleans and sanitizes offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, and other public areas.
- Empties trash cans.
- Operate laundry room equipment.
- Instruct new intake client that shower is required and provide scrubs.
- Return laundered belongings of new intake client to case manager.
- Wash and dry new client intake belongings.
- Inventory and record new intake client belongings.
- Complete electronic inventory of new intake client belonging into upkeep system.
- Tag and store new intake client and pack out client belongings.
- Distribute care packages to new intake clients.
- Distribute basic clothing items to clients.
- Retrieve stored client belongings from storage container.
- Dispose of unclaimed client belongings left after 30 days.
- Complete client linen exchange.
- Launder and store linen exchange items.
- Helps to maintain and track inventory of supplies.
- Work additional hours as required to cover open shifts or complete project work.
- Assist with housekeeping duties as required.
- Completed daily entry into department logbook.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Other skills required:
- Two years of janitorial experience preferred.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Perform standard math calculations, i.e., add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Maintain organized workspace.
- Perform work duties with limited supervision.

- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally exposed to wet (non-weather).
- Occasionally works around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).
- Occasionally exposed to blood borne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; and ability to adjust focus.
- Use of PPE required on a daily basis.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The employee must continually lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
