Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by accurately estimating costs and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with our construction management and project management teams to provide accurate and competitive pricing for construction projects. Responsibilities: - Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs - Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to understand project requirements - Collaborate with the construction management team to develop project budgets and timelines - Conduct research to gather accurate pricing information for materials and subcontractor services - Build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and ensure competitive bids - Analyze project scope changes and provide updated cost estimates as needed - Utilize construction estimating software such as HeavyBid to create accurate estimates - Collaborate with the project management team to ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle - Participate in value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities - Assist in preparing bid proposals and participate in bid presentations Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role - Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and techniques - Proficiency in using construction estimating software such as HeavyBid - Familiarity with project management principles and practices - Excellent analytical and mathematical skills - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications - Excellent communication and negotiation skills - Proficiency in using software tools such as Bluebeam for document management Note: This is a paid position. Internship positions must also be paid.
