A Path of Care Hospice of Norman, OK is looking to hire a Part-time Bereavement Coordinator is responsible to plan, implement, and maintain a bereavement program to meet the needs of families/caregivers from A Path of Care Hospice for up to one year following the death of the individual hospice patient. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BEREAVENMENT COORDINATOR

As a Bereavement Coordinator you will coordinate the assessment and delivery grief counseling needs and services to ensure timely and appropriate services are provided to family/caregivers. Plan for Bereavement Program development, expansion and refinement through annual evaluations of service. You will be helping with hospice personnel coping with work-related grief through counseling and referral to community services. Also, maintain community resource list as needed. Assist as needed in evaluating and planning service to meet hospice support needs ie., yearly treats, weekly support groups. You will need to work independently but seek guidance from other members or from the members of the community. Participate in in-service education, hospice personnel meetings and relevant committees. Accepts and performs other related dutied and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR BEREAVEMENT COORDINATOR

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent theological degree from college or university. Experience with families/caregivers and patients through death/dying or master's degree in social work with qualifications of experienced clinical grief counseling.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Creativity and motivational skills needed.
  • Must work as a part of the team to provide care to patients and families faced with a terminal illness.
  • Must understand the grief process both in dealing with patients and their families.
  • Must have reliable transportation, proof of insurance and a valid Oklahoma driver's license in good standing.
