Description

Maersk E-Commerce Logistics (Maersk ECL) helps facilitate B2C services such as order fulfillment, freight management, and parcel delivery. The Senior Accountant will be responsible to “own” a line of business/revenue stream. They will work closely with their FP&A counterpart and the operations team to ensure proper recording, reporting, and support is provided. 

What You’ll Do:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Analyze and prepare variance explanations for fluctuations
• Reconcile account balances as assigned; this includes identifying reconciling amounts and determining corrective action
• Assist in driving compliance in internal controls
• Help improve and document processes
• Provide support to the operations personnel
• Ensure compliance with GAAP
• Backing up other accounting functions as needed

Requirements

• Bachelors’ degree in accounting or related field
• 3 years’ experience in accounting, including familiarity with financial accounting statements and hands-on experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process; public accounting a plus
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
• Experience with NetSuite, Hyperion, and Power BI a plus
