The In-Home Counselor provides direct services to include: treatment plan development and implementation with children and families and counseling and parent skill training, through the use of proper therapeutic interventions. The In Home Counselor works independently in clients’ home and other community settings, utilizing creative clinical interventions based on best practice models and learned counseling techniques to work effectively with children and families. The In-Home Counselor must be willing to travel throughout Richmond and Hopewell, VA to provide intensive in-home services to clients.
Must have QMHP-C (Qualified Mental Health Professional – Child) certification. This position requires a person in the human services field who is trained and experienced in providing psychiatric or mental health services to children who have a mental illness.
A criminal background check is required for this position, along with a search of the Virginia Department of Social Services/Child Protective Services Central Registry.
