A National Transit is Hiring a Paratransit Bus Operator Full-Time (Non-CDL) Near Hapeville, GA

Paratransit Bus Operators Full-Time (Non-CDL) for A National Transit must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a vehicle in variant weather and traffic conditions. Candidate must have a good understanding of the basic needs of clients covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the ability to operate lift-equipped vehicles and to transport passengers using various mobility devices.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be at least 21 years or older

2. Must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license

3. Pass a background check 

4. Pass a DOT physical and drug test

5. Must have been a licensed driver for at least three (3) years consecutively

6. Must be able to speak and understand English proficiently

7. Must always maintain a valid Department of Transportation card (DOT)

8. Successful completion of New Hire 3- week training program

9. You Must Be Available and Flexible to Work ALL Shifts with start times between the hours of 3am until 4pm!  We are a 24 hours/7 days operation. You will not be provided a schedule until after you have successfully completed training.

****Training pay is $15.00/hr. and upon successful completion of training, the rate will change to $16.00/hr. -$18.00/hr. depending on experience******

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Successfully perform scheduled manifest via Trapeze or paper by picking up all clients on time and delivering them to their destinations safely.

2. Ensuring the safety of all passengers by use of appropriate on-board restraints.

3. Accurately collect and reconcile cash fares collected from customers.

4. Communicate effectively with dispatch or the control center via two-way radio.

5. Adapt to changes in normal working conditions, including adverse weather, traffic and construction, passenger problems, accidents, and trip changes.

6. Employ all techniques of defensive driving to minimize the risk of accidents and passenger injuries.

7. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure proper operating condition of vehicle and on-board equipment.

8. Provide excellent customer service including assistance in boarding and de-boarding passengers and providing accurate information.

9. Diffuse difficult situations and maintain order onboard vehicle.

10. Maintain a safe work area and focus on safety.

11. Maintain a professional demeanor.

12. Ensure safe and clean vehicle conditions at the start and end of each shift.
