As a Roofer with A.M. Sun Solar, you will be a critical part of our operations, focusing primarily on the removal of old roofing materials in preparation for new installations. This role requires a high degree of physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in roofing or construction, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean job site.

Key Responsibilities:

-Remove existing roofing materials, including shingles, metal roofing, and underlayment, in a safe and efficient manner.
-Operate hand tools and power tools (such as roofing shovels, pry bars, and hammers) to remove roofing materials.
-Ensure all materials are stripped from the roof deck without damaging the underlying structures.
-Ensure job site cleanliness, including the proper disposal of old roofing materials and the use of tarps to protect the property.
-Assist in identifying and mitigating potential hazards on the job site.
-Comply with all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and fall arrest systems.
-Communicate effectively with the roofing supervisor and team members to coordinate efforts and ensure the project stays on schedule.
-Perform minor repairs to the roof deck or structure as needed, under the supervision of the roofing supervisor.

Qualifications:

-A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
-Previous experience in roofing, construction, or a related field is highly desirable.
-Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
-Comfortable working at heights and on various roof types.
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Salary:

Hourly $20-$25 depending on experience
