A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay Inc is Hiring an Academic Supervisor Near Brandon, FL
- Review student records to develop a foundation of understanding regarding each student’s abilities and needs.
- Strives to maximize the educational achievement of each student by creating education-related goals for each child.
- Establish an effective rapport with students, staff members, and the community.
- Functions as part of a treatment team.
- Attends external meetings related to education, such as school and student conferences.
- Develop and facilitate learning activities for youth on campus academic related.
- Responsible for any data collection reporting as requested by the Program Director and/or CEO regarding the academic performance of ILP residents and program residents.
- Transport children as needed.
- Supervises the Independent Living Specialist.
- Supervise academic employees and oversee academic volunteers.
- Report and recognize academic achievements through distribution of money for grades, maintain the academic tree, etc.
- Other functions as needed or assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
- A valid State of Florida teaching certificate or National Teaching Accreditation highly preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience working in educational programs is highly preferred.
- A minimum of two years of related supervisory experience in education preferred; previous child welfare experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and successful completion of initial and periodic criminal background screening.
- Full compliance at all times with A Kid’s Place’s drug-free workplace policy.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Compliance with all applicable laws, including laws relating to childcare, laws relating to equal treatment in employment and in delivery of services, and other workplace laws.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, effective manner both written and verbally.
- Must be culturally sensitive and able to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel and children.
- Must be reliable, punctual, flexible and a team player.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook.
