Summary:

Oversee warehouse personnel in all administrative and physical material handling activities associated with shipping and receiving products, materials, supplies, and equipment. 

Responsibilities:

• Direct day-to-day work activities of the team resolves conflicts on the team, and coaches employees.
• Assists in the hiring, training, and evaluation of warehouse personnel. 
• Assists in setting goals and objectives of the team and setting priorities. Also tracks key performance metrics and ensures service levels are met.
• Supervises the preparation of goods for final shipment; prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped; posts weights and shipping charges.
• Oversees the unpacking and checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
• Responsible for answering questions related to shipments via email or telephone to internal customer service group. Works to solve problems escalated by the team.
• Assists with developing and writing department procedures and ensure training of staff. 
• Responsible for Health & Safety and maintain equipment as needed.
• Responsible for purchasing warehouse supplies.
• Participates in quality improvement projects.
• Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas. 
• Ensure import/export compliance and proper documentation. 

Required Experience and Skills:

• High School diploma, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 7 years’ experience in materials handling
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to delegate responsibilities and to work with other to and coach them to develop their capabilities.
• Ability, interest, and success in getting groups to work together to accomplish objectives
• Ability to ensure that information is passed on to others who should be kept informed
• Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization
• Ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for contingencies. 
• Understand the importance of using safety equipment and follow safety procedures to protect oneself and others.
