We are looking for a Direct care worker who is comfortable and able to do personal care and lifting due to consumers being in a wheel chair. Housekeeping and hourly bed checks are necessary. Applicants will also be required to monitor the clients throughout the night and conduct basic housekeeping duties.

• Schedule: 2nd Shift
• 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Week One: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, (Wednesday Off), Thursday, Friday, (Saturday Off)
• Week Two:(Sunday Off), Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,(Thursday Off), Friday, Saturday

Requirements:

• Must have a reliable vehicle and safe driving record.
• Must have a valid drivers license, Valid NC state minimum auto insurance and Active Car Insurance.
• Must be okay with personal care, lifting, cooking dinner, staying awake during shift, camera monitor system, and cleaning.
• Background checks will be performed on all applicants.
• Willingness/highly motivated to assist clients with working-out and building muscle tone.
• Confidence in working with/around clients that exhibit aggressive/explosive behaviors.
• Comfortable working with a client who has frequent seizures.
• Self-control and patience when dealing with escalated behaviors i.e. verbal provocation.
• Ability to learn and execute de-escalation strategies to handle crisis situations in a competent manner.
• Must have the physical ability to transfer client to and from the wheelchair to the bed, toilet and vehicle.
• Must be able to provide personal care
• Experience with IDD or direct support is a plus
• Employee must be okay with lifting and personal care

Nice-to-have:

• NC CNA-I Certification is a plus.

About This Position (Habilitation Technician):

• All trainings will be provided by A Caring Heart Case Management Inc.
• Direct support services provide instruction to individuals to help them learn, retain, or improve skills for maximal functioning.
• Skill building focuses on self-care, household maintenance, social and communication skills, money management, social and community inclusion, mobility employment, and self-regulation.
• Services will be provided in the home, community, and day program.
