A.C.E. Veterinary Hospital is a two doctor, family style, companion animal practice with an immediate opening for a full time, small animal veterinarian in Hopewell Junction, NY. Our brand new, innovative, state of the art full-service facility offers many services including preventative care, wellness care, surgery, and dental case management. Our mission is to emphasize preventative care, so our patients live longer and healthier lives. Doctors Brooke Wehrlin and Dr. Preston Kellner have been veterinarians in the area for 20 years and are committed to providing excellent and compassionate care to their clients. A.C.E. Veterinary Hospital prides itself on its client communication as well as the friendly and caring environment for the clients and patients. Our practice has a great relationship with the mobile board-certified surgeon and cardiologist that regularly visit the practice to provide specialty patient care. Using exceptional technology and staffing experienced, dedicated veterinarians, and team members, we’re committed to keeping pets, and our surrounding community, healthy and thriving!

Job Description*
We’re looking forfull or part time veterinarians who are compassionate, team players and strong communicators. We could support experienced associate veterinarians. The ideal candidate would be comfortable or open to rotating surgery days, but if surgery isn’t your thing, no problem, we’ll keep you in appointments to accommodate!

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
  • Active veterinary state license
  • Current DEA License preferred but not required
  • USDA Accreditation preferred but not required

The anticipated starting base salary for this position ranges between $120,000 - $180,000 per year and will commensurate with experience. In addition, opportunities for production bonuses may be possible based on individual performance and revenue generated.
Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to be confident around animals (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. Candidate to confirm species treated with practice leadership for additional clarity.)
  • Client needs and work volume may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job. This position may require special working hours, including working weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
  • Must have mental capacity and processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. Ear plugs will be available upon request.
  • Job requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform required duties while working.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate other equipment as required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hospital teammates are routinely exposed to a variety of animals that may bite, kick or scratch, and on occasion, may be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological or zoonotic hazards and/or medication/controlled substances.
