Overview

• Tier One Technologies has an immediate need for a Windows Systems Engineer for a long-term project with our direct US Government client. The candidates must have the ability to work on-site at Offutt Air Force base near Omaha, NE.
• Contract-to-Hire option is available.
• Must be a US Citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all technical phases of projects in a diverse technological environment. This responsibility includes the development of project requirements, technical solutions, design documentation, security accreditation and implementation plans.
• Perform requirements analysis, functional analysis, systems design, and implementation of company’s Windows Server and Virtualization requirements.
• Must obtain/maintain a DOD 8570 Information Assurance Technical Level II (or higher) is required (e.g., Security CE, CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) Certification within 180 days of hire.
• Build hardware and software technical solutions based on submitted requirements documents and customer interviews.
• Develop project definitions and engineering estimates to include cost estimates and cost benefit analyses.
• Manage/perform implementation for technical solutions built.
• Own the systems they implement and provide response to Gov’t questions/concerns regarding these systems.
• Provide inputs on technical refresh and life cycle planning for assigned systems.
• Participate in all phases of the development life cycle with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing and acceptance phases.
• Design and prepare technical reports and related documentation and makes charts and graphs to record results.
• Prepare briefings and updates on project/task status.
• Prepare purchase requests and configuration management documentation.
• Build Windows servers: ensure security requirements are met, test servers/systems/software/hardware, and integrate/install them into the production environment.
• Build Virtualized Environments: ensure security requirements are met, test servers/systems/software/hardware, and integrate/install virtualized servers and clients into the production environment.
• Ensure that all necessary documentation to operate and maintain the equipment and/or software is provided to the Service Delivery team.
• Perform performance monitoring and provides documentation of issues and recommendations to Service Delivery team.
• Attend meetings with the Government and ITCC II.Provide implementation and Integration of designed solutions.
• Provide Weekly Status updates for key stakeholders of the requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years, Master's degree with 3-5 years, PhD with 0-2 years of experience or 9 years relevant work/military experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a US Citizen and have an active DoD Secret Clearance. Top Secret preferred with the ability to obtain SCI.
• Prior experience working as a Windows Systems Administrator.
• Operational experience with Microsoft Windows server 2012/2016/2019, that include all windows roles (ex. Web servers, SQL servers, Exchange, etc).
• Experience or a working understanding of system integration within a diverse technology environment (hardware, software, network, and database).
• Operational experience with Virtual and Modern Desktop using Microsoft Windows 10/11 client Operating System (OS) is a PLUS.
• Operational experience or a working understanding using VMware VSphere 6.x technology and higher is a PLUS.
• Operational experience or a working understanding using vRealize Automation and vRealize Operations technology is a PLUS.
• Operational experience a working understanding with VMware software defined firewall NSX is a PLUS.
• Working understanding of system engineering processes and tasks including requirements gathering, creating a technical solution, implementation, and test/verification is a PLUS.
• Working understanding using reverse engineering, project planning, identifying key project constraints is a PLUS.
• Working understanding with system security accreditation, system hardening using Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) is a PLUS.
• Operational experience with physical and virtual server provisioning is a PLUS.
