Overview

• Tier One Technologies has an immediate need for a Sr. Systems Engineer to administer/troubleshoot Proxy and DNS technologies such as Broadcom Bluecoat and BlueCat DNS on various projects. The role requires a technically savvy consultant who can troubleshoot existing complex Blue Coat implementations and lead in the design and implementation of new enterprise-wide or global Blue Coat product deployments.
• This hybrid position will be located in Raleigh, NC
• SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and advice on complex activities.
• Configure, administer, document DNS multi-view configuration, DHCP services.
• Provide high-level troubleshooting of network, protocols, and application issues.
• Provide IP management, DNS, DHCP administration.
• Perform API scripting in Python.
• Provide Linux administration to include scripting and file system management.
• Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
• Work on high-visibility, or mission critical aspects of a given program, and perform all functional duties independently.
• Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
• Specialize in one or more phases of software systems development, systems integration, or network engineering.
• Formulate / define specifications, develop / modify / maintain complex systems and subsystems, using vendor engineering releases and utilities for overall operational systems.
• Apply analytical techniques when gathering information from users, defining work problems, designing technology solutions, and developing procedures to resolve the problems.
• Develop complete specifications to enable computer programmers to prepare required programs.
• Analyze methods of approach. Review task proposal requirements, gathers information, analyzes data, prepares project synopses, compares alternatives, prepares specifications,resolves processing problems, coordinates work with programmers and engineers, and orients users to new systems.
• Work with considerable freedom to make decisions on the techniques and approaches to be used.
• Prepare recommendations for system improvement for management and user consideration.

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then 4 additional years of related experience
• 8-12 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills:

• HTTP proxy configuration, integration, and administration expertise. Preferred Broadcom Bluecoat.
• DNS configuration, scripting of API calls. Preferred BlueCat Networks.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/s and HTTP proxy.
• IP Mgmt, DNS, DHCP configuration, scripting of API calls.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, DNS, DHCP
• Knowledge of TCP, understanding network, protocol, and application traffic flows
• Ability to troubleshoot basic network issues including IPv6.
• Network knowledge.

• LAN knowledge.

• Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
• Must be a US Citizen or have US Permanent Residence status (Green Card).
• Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years and not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in last 5 years.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with APIs, scripting, and Splunk data flows. Preferred Perl, python, and JavaScript.
