Overview

• Tier One Technologies has an immediate need for a Linux/Unix Systems Engineer. This on-site position will be located at Offutt Air Force base near Omaha, NE.
• Must be a US Citizen and have Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, and modify end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.
• Generate quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
• Ensure that requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
• Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and work with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements.
• Establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development.
• Design interfaces and bring system elements together so they work as a whole. Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
• Act as a customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements.
• Participate in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
• Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and work with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements.
• Participate in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
• Generate system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
• Review test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
• Develop project definitions and engineering estimates to include cost estimates and cost benefit analyses.
• Manage/perform implementation for technical solutions built.
• Provide inputs on technical refresh and life cycle planning for their systems assigned.Participate in all phases of the development life cycle with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing and acceptance phases.
• Design and prepare technical reports and related documentation.
• Prepare briefings and prepare updates on project/task status.
• Prepare purchase requests and configuration management documentation.
• Attend the Integrated Product Team meetings with the Gov’t to learn of new requirements.
• Require frequent interchanges with the customer to determine customer needs and ensure what is implemented meets those needs. Provide technical expertise, respond to tasks, etc.
• Build Linux/Unix servers, ensure security requirements are met, test servers/systems/software/hardware, and integrate/install them into the production environment.
• Ensure all necessary documentation to operate and maintain the equipment and/or software is provided to the Service Delivery team.
• Perform performance monitoring and provides documentation of issues and recommendations to Service Delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8-10 years, Master's degree with 6-8 years, PhD with 3-5 years or 12 years relevant working/ military experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, AWS technologies.
• Must maintain or obtain one of Information Assurance Technical Level II (Security CE, CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) certifications within 120 Days of hire.
• ITIL Foundations certification -suggested.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Have Active DoD Secret Clearance. Top Secret preferred with the ability to obtain SCI.
