REFERRAL COORDINATOR POSITION OPENING

Responsibilities for Referral Coordinator

  • Accurately enter data into corresponding fields within various software programs
  • Identify and correct data entry errors using appropriate quality control methods
  • Scanning documents
  • Reviewing and downloading electronic/paper faxes
  • Manage and organize electronic health record
  • Prepare relevant reports as needed
  • Provide general data entry support across different departments
  • Process prior authorizations for medications and imaging
  • Processing referrals as there requested
  • Gathering medical records information
  • Back-up resource to answering phones and processing calls as needed
  • Able to type at least 45 WPM

Qualifications for Data Entry Clerk

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 1 years of medical data entry experience or related office experience
  • Strong communications skills, oral and written
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (i.e. Word, Excel) / computer skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to enter data into a computer quickly and accurately
  • Comfortable with office equipment including a computer, telephone, scanner, calculator, and photocopier
  • Strong attention to detail and great organization skills
  • Ability to think analytically
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong time management skills
  • Understanding of Healthcare industry

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Conditions typically associated with an office environment. While performing the essential duties and responsibilities, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. May be frequently required to sit, stand or walk. Moderate to prolonged reading, typing, and computer work. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity that may include lifting up to 20 pounds. Subject to exposure to all environmental hazards associated with healthcare and office work.
