Reports To Owner Dentist

Education and/or Experience

Minimum high school education with (1) year work experience specifically related to the front office, Minimum one (1) year experience as dental assistant; preference for certifications in coronal polishing, nitrous oxide, sealant and x-ray; Oklahoma Permit for dental assistant required; Current CPR Certification required.

Basic math, reading and writing, and computer skills are required for all positions at A Better Smile.

Front Office Primary Responsibilities

The primary function of this postion is Front Office. As a team our Front Office employees manage check-in and check-out procedures, monitor patient arrivals, late shows and cancellations and manage all front office responsibilities.

The Front Office Primary Responsibilities are:

  • Open office (adjust temperature, turn on all electronics, check answering machine, print schedules for each exam room)
  • Check in duties (monitoring late shows, filling schedule for cancellations)
  • Check out duties (prepare deposit, day end reports, credit card summaries, e-claims, insurance claims, recall and month end close)
  • Enter patient data into internal system
  • Scan; File Pages Correctly
  • Fill in Referrals
  • New Patient Packet Preparation
  • Pull charts for next day
  • Insurance History/Check/Claims

Front Office Secondary Responsibilities

  • Communicates with patients and suppliers (scheduling appointments, answering telephones
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Provide quality service to all patients
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance record
  • Maintain confidentiality of all customer and employee information
  • Cleans office as a team in the area assigned – support co-workers
  • Floater for back office if needed for temporary staffing shortages
