A Better Life Community Services, LLC is a social service agency with a home office in College Park, GA, however we provide community based and facility- based services(Decatur, GA) to the intellectual and developmental disabilities population. We are professional, agile and our goal is to assist all served to live a productive life.

We are currently seeking friendly and compassionate individuals to work as Direct Support Professionals at our organization providing community access group services. The right candidate is highly motivated, has a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and prior experience working in a similar position. This position is a community based position and requires driving.

• Have current CPR and Basic First Aid certifications

• At least 18 years old

• Have the experience, training, education, or skills necessary to meet the individual’s needs for Community Access services as demonstrated:

• Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certification or

• Copy of high school diploma/transcript or General Education Development (GED diploma and

• At least six (6) months of experience providing behavioral health-related service to individuals with developmental disabilities, or

• Documented experience providing specific support to individuals with disabilities.

• Have evidence of an annual health examination with a signed statement from a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant that the person is free of communicable disease;

• Have a clean drivers record

• Responsibilities of the Direct Care Staff include, but are not limited to:
• Provides direct assistance in self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills training, retention, and improvement to individual individuals and groups of individuals;
• Provides direct assistance in training, retraining or improving the access to and use of community resources by individual individuals or groups of individuals;
• Provides active support and direct assistance in individuals’ participation in community social, recreational and leisure activities;
• Provides individual-specific assistance, such as assistance with personal care and self-administration of medications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.50 - $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Decatur, GA: Relocate before starting work (Required)
