Position Description:
Registered Nurse will provide initial nursing assessments when required to determine current medical needs for behavioral health clients requiring services, 2-3 days per week. Will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients with mental health disorders. Will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals in a community mental health center/office setting.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN or ADN) from an accredited nursing program
· Current and valid nursing license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Conduct thorough nursing assessments of patients to determine their mental and physical health status.
· Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to formulate accurate diagnoses.
· Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs and diagnoses.
· Provide counseling and support to patients and their families.
· Implement therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or group therapy.
· Regularly assess and monitor patients for changes in mental health status.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make necessary adjustments.
· Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
· Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
· Respond to crises and emergencies in a calm and effective manner.
· Implement crisis intervention techniques to ensure the safety of patients and others.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
· Document interventions, assessments, and outcomes in a timely manner.
· Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
· Provide information on coping strategies and community resources.

· Standard working hours will be between 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, 2-3 days per week
· Assessments will be conducted in a private behavioral health office setting.

Pay: $40.00 - $48.00 per hour
