Job Description

General Description:

As an Aggregate Crushing Laborer, you will be responsible for assisting in the operation of machinery and equipment to crush, screen, and transport aggregate materials used in construction projects. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation:
- Operate crushing and screening equipment efficiently and safely.
- Monitor machinery to ensure proper operation and identify any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Adjust settings on equipment to control the size and consistency of crushed materials.
Material Handling:
- Load and unload trucks with aggregate materials using loaders, conveyors, and other equipment.
- Transport materials within the facility or to construction sites as needed.
- Follow established procedures for handling and storing materials to prevent accidents and maintain quality.
Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment, such as greasing, lubricating, and cleaning.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Assist maintenance personnel with repairs and inspections as directed.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required.
Quality Control:
- Monitor the quality of crushed materials to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
- Conduct visual inspections and perform tests on samples as needed.
- Report any quality issues or deviations from standards to supervisors.
General Labor:
- Assist with various tasks around the facility, such as cleaning work areas, organizing tools, and performing other manual labor as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.

Experience:

Two years’ experience as a laborer, aggregate experience preferred.
Able to work 60 hours per week.
Verifiable professional and personal references
Own transportation to and from shop.
Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to random drug and alcohol tests.
Able to read, write, and speak English -- bilingual a plus (English/Spanish)

Must be a self-starter and team player who is motivated, reliable, and accountable.
Must be able to take and follow direction and have strong communication skills.
Must be trustworthy and honest.
Must be 100% compliant of all safety requirements and policies.

Duties require knowledge of the functions and duties of A-1 Chipseal personnel. To serve as a liaison between clients and A-1 Chipseal, it is essential for this individual to be familiar with the organization. Duties and actions impact individuals across the company.

Benefits:

Hourly wage based on experience and qualifications, ranges between $18.75 - $22.00 / hour.
