Profile Overview The IT Financial Controls and Risk (FCR) Lead will assist in leading the execution of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP) /Model Audit Rule (MAR) program at Resolution Life US (RLUS). Responsibility will include the evaluation of business processes and IT General Controls (ITGCs), supervision of team members’ work product, assist in financial materiality misstatement risk assessment, identification of issues/deficiencies, development of remediation plans, monitoring issue resolution, reporting, and other assigned activities. Work with peer team members, process owners, and internal and external audit team to ensure adequate testing coverage. This role has the responsibility of assisting in the supervision and coaching of staffing/consultants, as assigned. Profile Responsibilities Review, evaluate, develop, implement, maintain and verify business process controls and ITGCs including automated, interface, reports, and end-user computing controls relevant to the financial statements, and report in accordance with internal auditing and government-mandated standards. Assist in leading the execution of the test of design (TOD) and test of effectiveness (TOE) of relevant business processes and ITGCs and management of the annual assessment (testing) plan for all business areas for GAAP/MAR controls Leverage knowledge of the business, systems, financial and regulatory requirements to provide actionable recommendations for identified issues/deficiencies. Supervise to ensure the documentation request(s) and source documentation are sufficient to demonstrate adequate testing for GAAP/MAR controls. Create test procedures based on information obtained from business process owners. Supports control rationalization efforts of the business areas and provides recommendations to management on control optimization opportunities. Review team member’s work product to ensure control objectives are met, and consistency and quality are achieved. Develop positive and value-add relationships with process/control owners and other key stakeholders to ensure an efficient evaluation cycle. Evaluate the adequacy of actions taken by business management to remediate reported deficiencies and validate sustainability of the remediation activities. Assist with the direction and managing of the testing processes through the implementation of policies, procedures and methods to perform the testing efficiently and effectively in accordance with professional standards Assist with managing, developing, and motivating other team members Provide on-boarding and training of team members, including internal staff and external consultants. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience required Professional designation/advanced degrees preferred: (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, MBA) SOX testing experience required 5-7 years of experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 / NAIC Model Audit Rule Public accounting and IT experience preferred 1-2 years of management experience General knowledge of IT and IT auditing General knowledge of Logical Access, Change Management, Interfaces, and General Computer Control testing Proven leadership skills including demonstrated people management experience, including virtual and contractors or offshore resources Planning and organizational skills including project management Client-oriented, ability to work with different areas of the company (Internal Audit, Operational Risk Management, Life/Annuity, Actuarial, IT) Change management skills including the ability to work in a dynamic environment including Agile New Ways of Working Location: This is a remote role, with preference for candidates residing in proximity to, Atlanta or West Chester, PA.
