General Description: Responsible for managing and developing the regional small employee benefits service team. May also manage a small book of client accounts.
This is a mainly remote role but must sit in the Chicago, IL market.
Responsibilities:
•Provide full-cycle recruitment, management, and development of 4 or more employees.
•Provide oversight and implementation of operational strategic objectives of the service team.
•Develop a regularly scheduled training plan for the service team. Assist, mentor and conduct trainings for team members.
•Provide insurance technical expertise to clients and internal account management and sales team. Act as point of escalation for complex issues and questions.
•Technical expert for clients and internal team members on all Compliance topics. Includes, but not limited to, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform.
•Conduct virtual meetings with clients to communicate or administer benefit plans.
•Develop employee communications for changes, enrollment procedures, miscellaneous benefit changes and/or clarifications.
•Provide resolution support and oversight for employee issues. Includes contract clarification, enrollment, and billing.
•Ensure standard and complex client deliverable standards are met. Complete peer review for service team members.
•Keep current on industry information, technology, and trends.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•5 years experience in employee benefits industry.
•College degree preferred.
•Expert knowledge of employee benefits.
•Prior managerial experience needed.
•Must hold life and disability insurance license or willing to obtain within 4 months of hire.
•Leadership ability. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
•Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
•Able to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
•Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
•Able to define problems and generate potential solutions.
