Partnering with more than 400 transit agencies, we have worked on EVERY major transit system in North America and many of the most renowned systems overseas! We are looking for a strong Project Manager for Rail and Transit Projects in the NY/NJ region. This team focuses on design/construction in the following areas: Rail/Transit stations/facilities, and Systems, and APM projects. In this role you will be providing input into proposals and providing project management, design coordination and leadership on our major projects. This team focuses on New York and New Jersey projects but also supports other teams around the country. You will be involved in identifying new business opportunities and participating in the proposal and capture process. We are looking for a great leader to join and help build our team; one that inspires loyalty and commitment and knows how to deliver leading-edge rail and transit projects. Responsibilities: Lead integration of disciplines and stakeholders to facilitate project delivery. Manage scope, cost, schedule, risk and deliverables for rail systems projects. Leading and building a team of designers and key personnel in managing projects. Establish project schedule and budget, and monitors progress in meeting schedule and budget requirements. Collaborates with Business Development to market and secure additional work. Works with key stakeholders in establishing Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan and other documents as required. Determine number of hours required for successful completion of project tasks. Anticipates project staffing needs, identifies and interviews available personnel, and makes staffing assignments in accordance with schedule requirements. Collaborates with project stakeholders to plan work; including development of means and methods, preparation of work plans, and management of subcontractors. Pricing and negotiating changes to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors. Documents and executes changes in scope of project. Anticipates problems and works with client, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to identify and implement corrective actions. Coordination of team members and disciplines to progress project tasks and develop deliverables. Provides input on monthly reports to client, and respond to client issues and expectations. Responsible for overall managerial and technical direction of major engineering projects and strategic pursuits within the Rail Transit Sector, serving in either Project Manager or Design Manager roles. Develops discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project. Generates and manages staff forecasting reports. Ensures project performance within schedules and budgets assigned to the project. Monitors the quality and progress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that production requirements are satisfied. Provides technical direction and guidance to the engineering teams, including setting priorities and schedules. Reviews and approves top-level technical designs and documentation to ensure compliance to specs. Establishes standards and procedures manuals for major projects. Recommends improvements to established procedures. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field. 12 years of experience in rail, transit work experience, including experience in design management, and capture management. Rail transit experience and an understanding of rail systems. Design-Build project experience. Professional Engineer registration is preferred. Excellent written and oral communications skills Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignment A Senior Project Manager to manage all activities for a large road and highway project. This includes directing and coordinating subcontractor activities in accordance with project/client procedures, scope of work, and contract specifications. You will come into our organization which is already performing both design and construction and use your well rounded experience pursuing, winning, and delivering heavy civil construction projects. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: * Establish project schedule and budget, and monitors progress in meeting schedule and budget requirements. * Determine number of hours required for successful completion of project tasks. Anticipates project staffing needs, identifies and interviews available personnel, and makes staffing assignments in accordance with schedule requirements. * Collaborates with Superintendents to plan work; including development of means and methods, preparation of work plans, ordering of permanent and construction materials, and management of subcontractors. * Actively promotes and supports safety policies and monitors the job site for good safety practices. Ensures that Project Safety Plan is communicated to and implemented by direct reports. * Pricing and negotiating changes to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors. Reviews bid documents and assists with bidder solicitation activities. Documents and executes changes in scope of project. * Anticipates problems and works with client, architects/engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and Project Manager to identify and implement corrective actions. * Provides input on monthly reports to client, and may respond to client issues and expectations. * Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * 4-year degree in a technical or construction-related field and 15 years’ related work experience. * Experience in Design-Bid-Build projects. * Demonstrated self-performing experience in the construction field, on large, complex, heavy civil/structures projects (Road & Highways, Bridge & Tunnel, Rail & Transit). * Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required. * Incumbent must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements. * Must be willing to relocate to Miami Florida.
