Parsons Infrastructure is seeking motivated engineering students with an interest in bridge structures for a summer intern position. The intern will gain exposure to the production of drawings and calculations for the design of highway and rail bridge structures. This position will be located in downtown Baltimore. We need our interns to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills In this role, under direction of a degreed engineer, you will perform a variety of basic to moderately-difficult engineering support assignments requiring a fundamental knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. The co-op student at this level typically takes engineering notes, specifications, rough sketches, etc., and formalizes them into working drawings. Assignments are designed to develop a practical knowledge of equipment, facilities, and systems, and their interrelationships within a particular if structural design of bridges. Responsibilities: Support engineering staff in performing structural analysis modelling. Assist in the production of engineering drawings and calculations under supervision of senior engineers. Perform quantity take-offs. Review shop drawings. Qualifications: Civil Engineering students nearing completion of undergraduate studies, or students currently enrolled in graduate studies are encouraged to apply. Students should have completed courses such as structural analysis, steel or concrete design, geotechnical engineering, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong Microsoft Excel skills (proficiency using formulas, pivot tables, etc.) Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
