Location: Riderwood Village by Erickson Senior Living Situated on 120 beautiful acres in Silver Spring, Maryland, Riderwood is the largest continuing care retirement community in the United States. We are hiring a musician to join our team! We are the Program Department of Arbor Ridge, the continuing care facility of Riderwood Erickson Senior Living. Our department is responsible for providing therapeutic and recreational activities for our resident community, which includes long-term-care, assisted living, and memory care residents. We would like to offer in-house, music-driven programs on a daily basis for both groups and individuals. This could include a wide variety of musical genres, instruments, performances, and programs like singalongs, drum-circles, hand-bell choirs, percussion ensembles, musical trivia and games, music appreciation, music-driven seated exercise, background accompaniment for events, and/or creating person-centered playlists. Help people live better lives by: Assessing the resident’s needs/desires related to purposeful engagement and providing music-driven activities to meet the daily needs and interests of the residents. Designing, planning, and facilitating various structured and impromptu musical programs to individuals and groups in the common areas and resident rooms. Ensuring the safety of the residents on any group trips and excursions involving music. Working with other team members, management, volunteers, contracted musicians, and/or families to deliver musical programs and activities designed to enhance the resident experience. Monitoring the needs, abilities, and preferences of the residents in order to create appropriate music programs for individual and group audiences. Maintaining music equipment and supplies, generating supply lists, and ensuring safe operation and functionality of the equipment Maintaining proper documentation pertaining to musical programs provided if and as needed Participating in team discussions regarding resident programming, monthly calendars, activity and staff scheduling, and resident concerns What we offer: Compensation: $19.00-$24.00 per hour, based on musical background and experience Competitive benefits packages including medical, dental, vision, and PTO 401k for all employees 18 and over.
