We are seeking Genomics Data Analyst to join Q2 Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business in Durham, NC as a Hybrid position.

As a Genomics Data Analyst, you will be interacting directly with clients on topics ranging from transfer of data, interpretation of analysis results, and consultation on current and future projects. You will be providing support and technical expertise to develop and maintain programs to meet internal and external clients’ requests and implementing project related solutions to the full scope of scientific and/or bioinformatic programming tasks. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Processing and delivering large amounts of next generation sequencing data using a mix of open-source and custom-built tools.
• Providing expertise to internal and external clients and offering solutions to project needs.
• Assisting in the evaluation of computational efficiency of large-scale scientific and genomic sequencing computing systems.
• Identifying scientific system software components in need of improvement or replacement.
• Maintaining software infrastructure to support large-scale scientific genomic sequencing computing projects.
• Informing system administrators of hardware maintenance and support needs.
• Developing programming documentation including plans and specifications, in collaboration with colleagues.
• Developing, implementing, and validating new product technologies and applications.

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree Computer science, statistics, biology, or related field.
• Or master’s degree Computer science, statistics, genetics/molecular biology, bioinformatics, or related field
• Foundational knowledge in Linux/UNIX-based systems as well as HW-SW interfaces, storage, networking.
• Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

• C/C , Perl, Python, shell scripting within Bash or similar general-purpose programming or scripting languages
• SQL databases (e.g., SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL) is preferred.
• Good organizational, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects, with strong attention to detail.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $57,700.00 - $86,600.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
