About the role: The Associate EHS Consultant will be working either on site at one of our client locations as an extension of their Safety/Security organization and/or working on a variety of consulting projects from BSI’s offices in Northern or Southern California. Projects are variable and challenging. Associate EHS Consultant Responsibilities: The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strengths in one or more of the following areas: Incident Command Structure (ICS) principles Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) methodologies Continuity of Operations (COOP) principles National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards Hazard identification Risk Assessment Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) or Emergency Action Plan (EAP) development Business Continuity Planning and development Development of Emergency Management or Business Continuity programs either independently or with support from more experienced consultants Scheduling meetings and working with client employees directly in a professional manner. Supporting Emergency Management and Business Continuity Team development Developing and delivering Emergency Management and Business Continuity training Developing and/or executing emergency drills or exercises Emergency Management or Business Continuity assessments/general program compliance audits Writing technical reports Education/Qualifications: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Public Administration, emergency management or EHS related field 3-5 years of experience in Emergency Management and/or Business Continuity or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) consulting A desire to help public and private entities prepare, respond, and recover from disasters. Attention to detail. Experience with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training. Writing or supporting the development of emergency plans Writing or supporting the development of business continuity plans Developing or conducting drills and exercises of different sizes and scopes Working knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards for Emergency Management Experience with decontamination in a healthcare setting Experience in Security or Supply Chain Familiarity with incident management software (e.g., WebEOC, E-TEAM, Veoci or other) Familiarity with emergency notification tools (e.g., OnSolve, Everbridge, RAVE, or other) Experience with or researching international standards and complex issues and writing summary reports. Experience as Emergency response/First Responder Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) or Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) certification Other emergency management or business continuity certifications will be considered, such as CHEP, CEDP, or any certification from Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI) What we offer: BSI offers a competitive salary, group-sponsored health and dental, short-term and long-term disability, a company-matched 401k plan, company paid life insurance, 11 paid holidays and 4 weeks paid time off. The salary for this position can range from $75,000 to $123,000 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
