What you will be doing:The Member Services Specialist greets all incoming guests, members and visitors and help them with any appropriate information they need, monitor the check-in kiosk, answer phones and other clerical duties.

Required Hours: Friday Afternoon (1pm-5pm), 1 Saturday per month (7am-12pm), 1-2 evenings a week (3:30-8pm), additional availability as needed to assist in covering vacation and sick leave.

• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Possess strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks according to importance.
• Ability to keep confidentiality related to sensitive matters.
• Basic knowledge base of Microsoft Office applications, specifically MS Word and Excel
• Maintain a positive attitude and the ability to relate well to older adults.
• Able to handle concurrent assignments and possess good time management skills.
• Must be able to become certified in CPR, AED and first aid and maintain such certifications.
• Possesses valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicle for 50 North purposes.
• Answer incoming telephone calls, determine the purpose of the calls, and re- direct calls to the appropriate department.
• Greet visitors/members professionally and determine the nature and purpose of the visit.
• Interact with people in a positive and courteous manner.
• Monitor visitor/guests access to facility and issue My Senior Center cards.
• Assist with keeping databases current and accurate.
• Receive and resolve concerns from the public and if necessary direct to appropriate department Director.
• Schedule appointments, maintaining and updating calendars.
• Take payments for programs, events, and trips.
• Assist with new member and guest tours.
• Perform basic clerical duties and assist with Administration tasks as needed, including updating member information in My Senior Center.

What you need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 plus years of experience in an office environment

Physical Requirements:

Physical job requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Ability to position self to maintain files in file cabinet and supplies on storage shelves.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position, standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.
• Ability to arrive at work on time.
• Frequently move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across the office for various needs.
