4S-Silversword Software and Services is Hiring a Police Officer Near Portsmouth, VA

You will serve as a Police Officer in the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY to include work sites of Naval Support Facility Dahlgren, Naval Support Facility Indian Head, Naval Support Facility Patuxent River, and Naval Support Activity Washington Navy Yard.

Qualifications: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Performing aspects of law enforcement, antiterrorism, and physical security functions at military installations requiring use and deployment of specialized techniques, equipment, knowledge or training;

2) documenting law enforcement and security events and issuing citations; and

3) conducting internal and/or external investigations, inquiries or audits related to security matters where neglect, action, or inaction could cause an adverse effect on the installation's security.

GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Apprehending personnel by the use of force or police equipment;

2) Preparing police reports concerning incidents and actions taken; and

3) Responding to emergency calls for service while adhering to state and federal laws.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education: At the GS-05 level, successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position may be used to meet the specialized experience requirement.
