Position Summary The SAP IT Manager is responsible for managing the SAP Software Development team and providing SAP technical leadership and vision across the organization. This role will be focused on developing high performing teams, driving value initiatives through application modernization, and ensuring customized solutions are resilient and follow MPC standards and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in SAP, a deep understanding of the SAP technology stack, along with experience leading the adoption and implementation of new SAP technologies. Accountable for business results primarily achieved through the work of others. Manages staff, sets direction, oversees external staffing budget, and deploys resources based on changing demand. Has responsibility for employee career development, performance reviews, pay reviews, and staffing decisions. Key Responsibilities Manages the day-to-day operations of a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure internal and external resources are available to support Agile team demand. Understands the overall organizational vision and collaborates with management to set team goals that translate into actionable plans at the team level. Maintains a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement and leads the team through periods of change and transformation. Collaborates with key stakeholders to identify technology needs and opportunities and works with internal IT groups to provide effective solutions to address business needs. Develops continuous improvement techniques. Plan, resource, and provides direction and technical leadership for low- to medium-complexity IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Manages the department project portfolio effectively through governance and planning processes. Assists in the development and management of the department budget, tracking expenses, and ensures that resources are allocated effectively to meet business requirements. Stays abreast of the latest technology trends, industry advancements, and regulatory changes, and makes recommendations for adopting new technologies to improve operational efficiency. Assesses and identifies technology needs and opportunities, making recommendations for system enhancements, upgrades, or replacements. Continuously seeks opportunities to optimize processes and workflows. Partners with leadership to develop strong business cases for technology initiatives. Assists in the development of IT policies, procedures, and standards that are in line with area of responsibility and industry standards. Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards. Responsible for recruitment, development, retention, performance management of talent to meet needs of the business. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other computer-related degree required. 10 years of diversified IT experience required. 3 years of experience leading professional staff required. Experience managing an SAP Development and/or Basis team preferred. 5 years of solution design, enterprise architecture, and/or SAP implementation preferred. Experience with SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, and SAP BTP Services is preferred. Experience migrating On-Prem SAP 2022 S/4 HANA environment to SAP Rise is preferred. Experience defining and executing an SAP Clean Core Strategy through BTP Services preferred.
