About the Role

  • Responsible for on site observation of construction progress in field
  • Review and report on contractor’s adherence with the construction drawing and specification documents during construction
  • Interface with owners and design team consultants during construction
  • Design intent liaison between design team and construction team
  • Prepare site observation field reports pertaining to job status
  • Maintain, record and organize construction correspondence, submittal, request for information and change order logs
  • Review contractor’s Applications for Payment per requirements of construction contract
  • Field verification percentages of construction phase completion
  • Ability to anticipate project trends and troubleshoot issues in the field
  • Understand terms and responsibilities of the construction agreements,
  • Assist in the drafting of construction contracts, and assist with permitting
  • Support the design teams with constructability reviews during design phases & prior to bidding / construction

Requirements

  • 4 yr. accredited degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
  • Proficient experience in project/construction management and/or architectural management
  • Qualified knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, quality standards, and liability
  • Understanding of all facets of the architectural design/construction document process
  • Familiarity with construction management software programs (ex. Procore)
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Basic skills in understanding of estimating required
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Collaborate with design teams to facilitate a positive work environment
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professional conduct in rigorous environments

Preferences

  • Ideal candidate has experience in building design and/or building construction
  • Experience working for a General Contractor and/or A/E Firm
  • 5-10 years experience working in a related field
  • PE, CPM, LEED, AIA (or other professional certifications) will be given special consideration
