About the Role
- Responsible for on site observation of construction progress in field
- Review and report on contractor’s adherence with the construction drawing and specification documents during construction
- Interface with owners and design team consultants during construction
- Design intent liaison between design team and construction team
- Prepare site observation field reports pertaining to job status
- Maintain, record and organize construction correspondence, submittal, request for information and change order logs
- Review contractor’s Applications for Payment per requirements of construction contract
- Field verification percentages of construction phase completion
- Ability to anticipate project trends and troubleshoot issues in the field
- Understand terms and responsibilities of the construction agreements,
- Assist in the drafting of construction contracts, and assist with permitting
- Support the design teams with constructability reviews during design phases & prior to bidding / construction
Requirements
- 4 yr. accredited degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
- Proficient experience in project/construction management and/or architectural management
- Qualified knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, quality standards, and liability
- Understanding of all facets of the architectural design/construction document process
- Familiarity with construction management software programs (ex. Procore)
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Basic skills in understanding of estimating required
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Collaborate with design teams to facilitate a positive work environment
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of professional conduct in rigorous environments
Preferences
- Ideal candidate has experience in building design and/or building construction
- Experience working for a General Contractor and/or A/E Firm
- 5-10 years experience working in a related field
- PE, CPM, LEED, AIA (or other professional certifications) will be given special consideration
