We’ve got what you’re looking for. Job Description: Parsons is looking for a talented Architectural Field Review Monitor to join our team! Acting on behalf of the Architect of Record (AOR), the Field Review Monitor (FRM) is responsible for carrying out field reviews at the construction site during the construction of Stations, Stops, and Maintenance Facilities of the Edmonton Valley Line West (EVLW) project. For clarity, the AOR retains professional responsibility including making all decisions related to the practice of architecture relevant to the project. The FRM, working under the direct supervision and control of the applicable AOR, will carry out field reviews to ensure that implementation or construction of the project in the field aligns with the original design’s intended purpose, specifications, and requirements. What You'll Be Doing: Confirm the original design and assumptions are valid as they relate to field implementation Identify issues in the original design or specifications – or any other issues – due to site conditions that were not known while preparing the original design Create alignment between field-level decisions and decisions in architectural practice by the AOR Ensure that if the implementation deviates from the intended design, the deviations are managed appropriately. Support to the AOR in day-to-day ESDC activities as required by the AOR: Review Site Queries (SQs) and coordination of Field Change Directives (FCDs) Provide technical support in the preparation of Design Development Change Record (DDCR) requests, review and coordinate Construction Submittals, review and coordinate the disposition of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), coordinate and ensure that design changes (FCDs) are incorporated in revisions to the Final Design Review of construction turnover packages in support of the delivery of Construction Certificates by the AOR Coordinate the preparation and issuance of final Record Drawings Conduct field reviews: Document observations, interpretations, and deviations from PWPs design documents and promptly communicate them to the Technical Management Team, Construction Management Team, and Architect of Record as necessary. Take the initiative to be aware of the construction schedule and make every effort to ensure that critical work is reviewed while it is available, observable and in a state suitable for review. What Required Skills You'll Bring: Formal Education and training in Architecture. Professional registration with AAA or ability to register from another jurisdiction considered an asset. 5 years of related experience in the field. Experience related to transportation facilities preferred. Knowledge of public works contracts, and previous experience with P3 projects is required. Knowledge of Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud software platforms What Desired Skills You'll Bring: Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications, and construction-related processes in the area of transportation facilities. Ability to communicate in all manners (oral, written, technology) and to follow oral and verbal instructions. Ability to prepare detailed written reports. Proficient with computer programs, and propriety engineering software. Able to balance competing tasks and work within a multi-disciplined team. Able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary. Requires ability to climb ladders, inspect work above and below ground, work in confined spaces and negotiate terrain on in-process construction sites.
