THP/Cornerstone Respite job description
360 Youth Services, a non-profit agency transforming the lives of youth for almost 50 years, is seeking to hire a Respite specialist in our THP and Cornerstone housing program. The position will require candidate to work with and support, youth ages 13-18 and 18-24 year old experiencing homelessness. Candidates will work on an as need basis, filling in for staff vacations/sick time/holiday’s, etc.
Our ideal candidate has some child welfare experience and focused education related to working with young people and adults who have experienced complex trauma and providing affirming services with Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) and the LGBTQ population. The candidate is energetic and engaging with an ability to lead, follow program rules/guidelines, have flexibility; enforce an inclusive community for residents; and seeking increasing responsibility and a promotion path.
This Respite Specialist position nonexempt position is a member of the agency’s Housing Department. As a key member of the 360 Youth Services management team, the Respite specialist will ensure not only safety is maintained but is committed to maintaining the highest standards of care for our youth and young adults.
When working with Youth 13-18, JOB RESPONSIBILITIES will include:
  • Implementation of program plan.
  • Transportation of youth.
  • Monitoring the whereabouts and activities of youth to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Supervise activities of youth to promote positive development and productive use of their time.
  • Provide direction in accordance with the Group Home Plan and Level System.
  • Provide a nurturing environment conducive to emotional growth of the designated youth.
  • Discuss issues relating to the youth pertaining to daily activities.
  • Assign youth chores.
  • Assist in housekeeping, food purchase and food preparation.
  • Supervise recreational and cultural activities.
  • Maintain records required by the Group Home Program Manger
  • Work cooperatively with staff.
  • Proper use of the agency van.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Group Home Program Manager.
When working with Transitional Housing clients JOB RESPONSIBILITIES will include:
  • Collaborate with Case Managers and Program Managers to understand and meet the needs of residents in transitional housing and in community.
  • Support apartment maintenance procedures and hygiene skills for all residents.
  • Assist and oversee group/life skill sessions.
  • Input daily Case notes updates.
  • Meet with Program Manager for one-on-one supervisory check-ins, as needed.
  • Assist with transportation needs of clients.
  • Perform evening apartment checks as agreed upon and needed.
  • Commit to the values of positive youth development, harm reduction, transformative justice, anti-oppression and trauma informed care.
  • Travel to client apartments with Case Manager, as needed, to deliver programming to youth in community. (RRH)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Program Manager.
