360 Youth Services is Hiring a Clinical Therapist Near Naperville, IL

Clinical Therapist
Position Summary
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing direct therapy, reunification, advocacy, support, and/or family stabilization services to children and families at high risk of involvement in the child welfare and/or juvenile justice system; maintaining an active client case load and all corresponding record-keeping; covering crisis pager assignments for runaway and locked out youth; and maintaining positive, constructive relationships within the agency and the community.
Essential Functions:
  • Using a trauma informed approach, provide individual/family/group counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy services to high-risk youth with the purpose of family preservation, reunification, and stabilization in office, school and community settings while promoting healthy environments, lifestyles and behaviors using educational and support services to agency clients, which builds the capacities of individuals, groups and families.
  • Provide School-based counseling services to DuPage County schools and therapy to individuals and families at the 360 Youth Services agency site.
  • To collaborate with community partners, such as schools, police departments, juvenile probation, and mental health agencies/hospitals, to serve high-risk youth.
  • To provide timely, diligent and confidential record-keeping and Cornerstone data system work for each youth in compliance with DHS and CCBYS requirements and agency standards.
  • To provide community information and linkage to referral services CCBYS youth and their families for substance abuse, mental health treatment, educational, and employment training programs.
  • To provide professional presentations based on the needs of the community as related to high-risk youth.
  • To assist with crisis coverage as part of the 24-hour crisis response system for CCBYS as designated by the Clinical Director and the Crisis Coordinator.
  • To provide temporary placement and follow-up family stabilization services for children/families in unresolved crisis situations and as outlined in CCBYS placement protocols.
  • Attend at least two trauma related trainings per year.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Our expectation is that staff will embody these principles and continue to grow and develop in these areas.
Job Qualifications:
  • Hold a verifiable Master's Degree in Social Work or equivalent Master's degree in the human services field from an accredited school, State licensed or eligible for licensure.
  • Driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of childhood trauma and at least one-year experience working with youth affected by trauma.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to have professional boundaries, relate to staff and youth in a positive, constructive therapeutic manner.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to provide the agency-designated services in an independent manner.
  • Demonstrate understanding of trauma informed care and harm reduction.
  • Knowledge of LGBTQ identities and affirming care model.
  • Must pass a background check before being permitted to work alone with clients.
