What would this role do?

The Clinical Compliance Specialists serves to ensure that 360 Behavioral Health’s partners are in compliance with all relevant clinical regulations and standards set by the state and local governments, funders (i.e. Health Plans, School Districts, and Regional Centers), licensing/certifying bodies (i.e. BACB, APA, QABA Board, and BICC), and organizational policies and procedures. The Clinical Compliance Specialist also participates in the development, management, standardization, monitoring, and reporting of organizational quality improvement programs and strategic plans. In addition to performing day-to-day tasks, you will foster a cooperative, collaborative environment where everyone works together toward common goals. As the Clinical Compliance Specialist for the Quality Department with 360 Behavioral Health Management Services, you will primarily work remotely.

Role Responsibilities 

  • Reviews procedural integrity of clinical documentation (SOAP notes, Session Notes, Clinical Treatment reports, etc.) and provides performance feedback to clinicians
  • Leads internal auditing and review of clinical records, compliance with payor requirements, etc.
  • Leads response to external audits, grievances, and other external requests that involve clinical compliance.
  • Conducts clinical coaching related to correct action plans or coaching plans.
  • Conducts training on clinical compliance related activities.
  • Review of payer contracts and updates payor requirement handbook.
  • Participates in maintenance of company’s policies and procedures and clinical practice standards
  • Participates in maintenance and use of company’s quality assurance and compliance auditing software.
  • Reviews and evaluates patients' medical records, applying quality assurance criteria.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures consistent with clinical regulatory, state contract requirements and current industry standards
  • Assists in the implementation of audit processes to ensure clinical compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations and program guidance
  • Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of the clinical compliance audit program and risk assessment
  • Participates, leads, and is accountable for his/her team’s KPIs.
  • Participates, leads, and is accountable for his/her department’s High-Performance Work Team and develops his/her staff’s professional development.
  • Presides over improvement programs occasioned by clinical compliance analysis
  • Keeps up to date with all related clinical quality legislation and compliance issues
  • Compiles and assists in preparing materials for submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Complete all duties and/or tasks assigned by leaders and/or the business.

Must Haves 

  • MA/MS in Behavior Analysis or related field
  • 4-5 yrs experience working in the behavioral health field, preferably autism service industry overseeing and implementing treatment
  • Knowledge of managed care agencies, regional centers, and school district requirements and standards
  • Knowledge of certification/licensing board standards (i.e. BHCOE, CASP, BACB, QABA Board, and so forth)
  • Computer savvy with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge EHR systems like NPAWorks, Catalyst, HiRasmus, Lumary, etc.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, honest, and articulate.
  • Excellent organizational, communications and time management skills.
  • Customer service focus – with a professional demeanor, understanding of boundaries, and composure.
  • Applicant is to always conduct themselves to the highest ethical standard.
  • Ability to politely interact with Staff and Administrative personnel across branches, departments, and diverse backgrounds.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing landscape.
  • Ability to pass background check / Live Scan required.

Nice to haves 

  • BCBA is preferred, but not required
